7.62x54R spam can - Identity and worth?

I will be setting up a table at the local gun show this weekend to sell off odds and ends that I've stashed away over the years. I dug this spam can out of the garage, and since my Mosins are long gone I'm planning on selling it this weekend. To do that, I need to know what it is exactly and how much I chould charge for it. Any advice appreciated.

It may not be 7.62x54 ammo. It may be 7.62x25 pistol ammo. The box looks familiar and similar to Bulgarian 7.62x25 ammo that I have seen in the past.

I know nothing - just looked at these spots:

Cracking Open a Crate: 1953 Bulgarian 7.62x25 Tokarev Ammunition

Unboxing my first spam ‘tin’ - any info? : r/Tokarev

As an aside - I noted this warning about shooting Bulgarian 7.62 thru pistols - too hot? meant for SMGs - ?

No idea if the threat is valid or not.

Interesting. Maybe I should crack it open to verify. What is 7.62x25 worth? I want to sell this at the next gun show.

It looks Russian and the older style of packaging before the more common spam tins from the 70's and 80's that are so prolific. I believe that 52 on the bottom is the year code but don't quote me on that.

Well after doing a bit of google searching I agree with the post above, there is a chance it could possibly be Bulgarian 7.62x25 Tokarev pistol ammunition from 1952 but it might also be 7.62x54R as well. The cans and markings look nearly identical. I would put more money on betting it is Tokarev pistol ammunition though by the pictures I see posted in these threads.

16 round packets. Packets 1 & 2 contain cartridges dated 1949 and the packets are constructed of thin tan/off white card stock. Packets 3 & 4 are constructed of medium thickness tan craft paper and contain rounds dated 1953. Packet 5 contains cartridges dated 1951 and is constructed of thin craft paper with light purple shading and the label has light green shading. I have seen packets that are dull blue/gray with an applied off white label printed in black and pink packets with an applied pink ...

Only one way to find out for sure! Did you ever own a Tokrav pistol?

And the winner is......... 7.62x54. What would be a good price per packet, or a good price for the whole can?

Look similar to a Bulgarian yellow tip 300rd count. If it is yellow tip (usually 182gr) from my experience, it’s good ammo. You can easily get $150 or north if that price. Which gun show, Ontario?

No yellow tip, just copper clad ball. Gun show is in Emmett, Idaho. This looks to be a 440 round spam can

No problem selling it in the free state of Idaho.

Admittedly I haven't kept up on prices but https://www.wikiarms.com/group/7.62x54R shows that commercial new steel case stuff sells for about 60 to 70 cents per round. You could probably try asking 50 cents per round and haggle from there, I'm sure someone would take it off your hands. Were you able to read the headstamp of one of the cartridges from that broken packet?
