    Hi Standard/Squires Bingham Shotgun

I posted this in the shotgun forum - may be best here?

    Squires Bingham Model 30R

Does anyone have info on the Squires Bingham shotgun? Am trying to determine C&R status avoid getting screwed on shipping, DROS & tax by picking up directly.

It's most certainly a HS Model 200, but stamped as Squires Bingham with Pacific International as the importer. Pacific International (IIRC) was the Olde Sacramento Armory on J St.

Receiver style is the pre-1968, but with the Squires name and Pacific International names - am thinking, this doesn't make +50 years.

If the serial number goes to HS and is +50 years old - eligible?

Does it have a serial number? If not it's pre. 1968.
    Poke'm with a stick!

Does have one. I can't quite make it out in the photo. So, likely post 68. But the style of HS receiver speaks to pre-68.

I'm certain this is an HS Model 200, just trying to figure out how Squires ended up with HS receivers or guns. Bought HS old stock, the guns or receivers went from US to PI and back to Sacramento? I don't have a Blue Book handy but that may be worth checking out.

What ticks me off is that until a few hours before the auction ended the damn thing was about $75.00. I guess sending it to CA wouldn't have been that bad. But at $215.00 - then add shipping, DROS & tax and 11% excise plus the $60.00 charged by receiving FFL for out of state transfer . - that $215.00 gun goes up to +$400.00. Compared to picking up or shipping to OR and using my C&R, sucks.

It's being shipped to OR. If I find out it's C&R I'll PU on Presidents Day visit. If it's not I'll either sell it through the store or gift it to a friend with a Feb birthday.
