I have no idea if this was colorized, it has definitely been heavily post processed, but there is actually some beautiful authentic color WWII footage out there. Color film had been around quite a while before '39.

Seeing this makes me want to grab my Garand and fight them dirty Nazis. I love Mausers but sometimes we forget what was behind the forces that were making them.

Hahah not my video but yeah your right. Seeing the STG 44 in action, MP40 and Mg-42 popped in there too. Even though they are the losers of WW2 they certainly fought to the bitter end and with that impressive weaponry you can see why. Even got some panzerfausts in there too, devastating weapon yet so simple and cheap to produce.

I personally like this video.. at 6:30 you get a blast then a shot of a soldier who took cover during the explosion and he rolls to look at some kind of gear he wears on his belt/leg and it took a shrapnel hit for him.

Also, more long eyed soldiers and barely 16+ kids.

Looking at the Officers reminds me of the officers I met today in our own military. Some things are ubiquitous to man and war and officers vs enlisted men is one of them.

O referring to the camera man and the point of view? Yeah very rare you actually see the German Army being filmed retreating. German Propaganda did a good job of not showing that.

People always get mad at me when I say that modern american soldiers don't know what war is really like. Real war. Not Haji and his turbaned and bearded band of goat-herds with ak-47s. Battles where a hundred thousand would die in a day.

WWII videos remind me of why our "greatest generation" wanted a consumerist future. They had seen the hell of Hate first hand. It spent itself in blood in WWI and WWII, though I look about these days and wonder if Hitler's curse is coming true with that old, deep, hate returning to man.

ahhh excellent Point 7.62 and you are dead on. Rommel, Stauffenberg, Von Rundstedt, and Manstien saw that after 1941-1942 Total victory was out of reach. However they still had plenty of defensive ability to survive the war by using a flex defense. Hitler said no and wanted static defense...and well by 1944 the German Forces was a shadow of itself and mostly on paper.

here you go Paul. This is the Waffen SS towards the end of the War and by the looks of it they are always on the advance and gaining ground hu? You right about the 98k having an extra hand. See the troops with the mauser in one hand and a Panzerfaust in the other. That makes a pretty deadly combination.

Seeing their faces at the Allied Air Superiority is pretty surreal as well.
