I was under the impression that it applied to all, I stand corrected.

CGF is front and center on beating back bad laws here in CA. Perhaps the best person to ask is bweise. I know the roster is being taken on in appellate court in Pena v cid. There are actually four plaintiffs each attacking the roster along lines used in the Heller v dc SCOTUS case.

NRA tends to work at the National Level. And the SAF is doing good work in various states.

As for the long gun registration Bill -- it's already passed; and pending taking effect. I'm not a lawyer, so I do not know if we can stop it before it takes effect -- usually someone has to be harmed by a law (denied a right) before the law can be challenged.

We cannot get a fair deal from our elected representatives; so the courts are our best course of action. Unfortuanately, courts take time and money.

What I'd like to see is immunity taken away from anyone who authors, sponsors, introduces, votes for, signs into law, or enforces a law later proven unconstitutional. They would be very careful with their pens if their personal fortunes were on the line.

The COE is basically a LIVESCAN so if you have done one before you should be good to go.

You should apply for your COE at the same time as your C&R. You do not have to have your C&R in hand to apply (It's just worthless without a C&R). The COE is taking a bit longer to process than the C&R.

                You download this PDF form:

Type in your answers -- Type of business = you are a Collector.

Getting livescan fingerprinted is easy. Jr colleges, notaries, most have livescan. Total cost on initial application is a little over $100 -- renewal is $22 per year. If you let it lapse more than 12 months, you have to reapply with livescan. (You can PM me if you have questions on filling out the forms -- glad to help.)

To the extent you can afford it: contribute to the CGF. Join organizations like the NRA and SAF. And vote against those people who have authored bills that deny us our rights.

Personally, if I can afford 2 guns per year, I would rather buy 1 and donate the cost of the second toward keeping what I have.
