    Bear Front Sight Blade

IMG_5229a.jpg Dropped by a LGS. They had an older Winchester 94 SRC, I would guess pre-war. The front sight blade is a tiny bear sculpture. The photo does not show the actual shiny color, but it looks to be made of german silver. Anyone seen such a thing before?

    Awesome! Never seen that before.

That is pretty cool, I have never seen one like that before either.

I've seen my fair share of Winchesters, and a whole lot of other rifles, but never a front sight blade like that. Anything that special on the rest of the rifle?

The gun otherwise is relatively unremarkable. Just a well used 94 SRC chambered in 30-30, it does have the carbine rear ladder sight, and appears to have spent a good part of its life in a saddle scabbard. I foolishly did not make note of the serial number, but I have it on hold and will see it again after I chase mule deer around Utah with my muzzleloader for a few days.

Made it back out to the LGS. With serial number 990xxx the gun was made in 1926. Other than honest wear cosmetics it seems very good mechanics wise. It has a very good bore. The only thing out of the ordinary is that front sight blade.
