Yeah but awesome one! Not to many produced and this one is a K43 which is basically a copy of the Walthers/GEW 43. (those go big bucks)

Now you know why I want a HAKIM? hahah much much cheaper but same concept of rifle.

If that rifle was on Gunbroker, I would think it would go for 2k. Like most of the "R" marked stocked rifles I have seen, the rifle is well worn. (No one has been able to verify what the "R" signifies - French post war use, Yugo post war use, Czech post war?) It appears to have the same red stain/treatment that I have seen on "R" marked stocks. Not as collectible as non-"R" marked stocks.

All Matching rifles in poor shape start around 2500.

Reliability, function, yes. Rarity and collectability No.

Less G/K-43s were made than SVT's, and they were never imported in any large numbers. Supposedly Russia/Ukraine has some salt mines full of em but they are asking for too much money for them and the importers would have to ask for the same price as a matching vet bring back to make a profit

The G/K -43 rifles are neat and a must for any WWII rifle collection. I have one with a different added twist, it's also East German marked (the star burst proof in the last photo) . Very late war production and all matching.

Thanks. It is pretty sweet. I like the phenolic resin top cover, as it sets it apart from most G/K-43's. I bought it years ago from a distributor who got a small batch in. I didn't even notice the East German proof until a few months after I got it.

Regarding the rifle originally posted, that's a pretty high price for a mis-match with a cracked stock and missing it's correct sight hood and cleaning rod......

Correct sight hood cost a pretty penny if you can find an original.
