    WTK-is there currently a market for 1903 springfields? Own 1 25+yrs

Hey I was wondering if there is currently a market for selling a 1903 Springfield rifle that I have had for like 25+ yrs . It is nice, an arsenal rework, has a 6-35 dated barrel ,swept bolt, little punch marks that they got when reworked and test fired ,great stock , bore is nice but dirty-dusty ,headspace is great-recently rechecked ,serial is like 793,xxx(?) need to reverify..I know it is below the magic 800,000 ser range for the updated heat treat issue BUUUUUT there is conjecture that the correction started about 750,xxxx...sooo...

So anyway if some one could bless me with a yes or no before I go through the hassle of pics, posting a WTS, blahblah I would be grateful... if there is not at least I can toss it back and move on to other stuff to deal with, sell, etc.

    Thanks!, Cheers

The CMP recently released a batch for mail order and they sold out immediately.

They sell on Gunbroker all the time - $800 to 1200 - from what I have seen - condition and rareness being major factors. I got this one for $725 at the auction - due to I believe it having a non-standard 308 barrel replacement. With a 30-06 barrel, I would have expected to pay more. Just my opinion.

Was looking for the handling marks around the muzzle on that. But only side views. How is the muzzle face itself?

Hasn't arrived at my dealer yet. I didn't even ask to see the receiver's mfg info and serial number. Happens when I get up and start bidding before I am fully awake.

Hi Guys, thank you for the replies...apparently I am not getting any email notices regarding replies to any of my threads.. have to look into that. Thank you, guess there is always a demand for them at some level.

I will be hones i am more of a mauser guy and have never been super familiar or kept up with 03,03A3,P17 milsurps.... I guess my 1st milsurps being a GEW88 and an Austrian Steyr M95 Carbine in 8x56r (kicks like a rotten pissed off mule!) influenced me and being left handed ,bolt actions are a bit secondary to me...
