Best Place to Sell My 1943 M1 Carbine?

I'm thinking about selling my Winchester M1 Carbine dated to 1943 with a CMP certificate. Parts are mostly or entirely matching although I have to check that for sure. I bought it from a chap who acquired it from the CMP some years ago. Should I offer it for sale here on CalGuns, put it on consignment with the local gun store, list it on one of those online gun sale sites, offer it through a collectors' association? The value is going to depend on how knowledgeable the buyer is about these special beauties. It is a safe queen in that I've never fired it since I acquired it.

1st, go shoot that thing.. I doubt you’ll sell it after that.. but If you decide to, list it here, Carbines always go quick. I’ll never sell my remaining WW2 guns (1911a1, 1944 NPM carbine and 1941 Garand)

It not that special. It's all about condition.

Of course, it's all about condition. By way of further explanation, I'm not a collector. So I'm thinking about capturing the money value and letting a new owner enjoy owning it. The M1 Carbine is a wonderful firearm.

You want a wider selection of potentially knowledgeable buyers that what I think consignment will give you.

Agreed....go shoot it first before selling it. Maybe it will change your mind. This site would probably be best place indeed to sell if you still decide to. I have sold on here and without a doubt, got the best $ offer I could find. You have something many on here would love to have so if you price it fairly, it will sell quickly. I had a 22lr I did not want to part with, but I never shot it, so I decided to let someone else who would enjoy it have it. It sold in 5 minutes from list posting. The key is having something others want (which you do) and most importantly price it right (and/or OBO if you are open to offers). I've sold to dealers and generally not going to get as much as using this site or similar. Consignment as well takes a good chunk. Try to have good pictures as well so potential buyers can see you firearm and get a good idea of it and condition. Good luck with sale if you decide to sell.
