    Mosin front site post

Does anyone know the diameter of the front site post on a 90/31? Im going to pick up my Big 5 special tomorrow and the front site on it is broken off at the base (I had a gift card and it was in the best overall condition of the other mosins from the two differnet stores near me). I was thinking of trying to replace the post with one of those fluorecent pieces of plastic used for sites on bows or maybe a fiber optic rod? is those exist. Thanks in advance.

Yeah I considered that option and may very well do that in the end. However I wanted to make the rifle my own and plus I like tooling around with my guns.

      And thanks for the pm

I was thinking to paint my sight front post with my wife's red nail polish ( To see in snow ). Then on the rear sight drill only the tipp of the bit onto the rear sight and fill with her white nail polish on either side of the sight nocht to get (custom/hillbilly) uber geist like sights.

She is now hiding her nail polish box after that fishing lure incident - they do put a lot of sparkles or metalic flake in that paint.
