With 6 hours to go, it looks like it will go for more or less the same amount. Looks to be a nice rifle, too bad about the chewed up wood forward of the trigger group housing.

As an aside - between this one and the Breda you posted about...... kind of puts to rest the belief that refinishing a Garand cuts the value by 50%.

I'm leery of "Collector Grade" Garands sold on GB.

A few years ago there was a scandal in the Garand community involving a guy who sold "Corrected" Garands with phony paperwork. If I were bidding, I would insist on a right of return if it failed confirmation by the CMP that it was actually a "collector grade"

Well - it closed at over $3,200, which is more than the pimp-shined Breda went for. Geez...... I wonder what my M1-D with CMP provenance would bring?
