One pound of 1f beats 30 gallons of steam

Mythbusters episode: My cannon "Old Moses" did more damage to the cinder blocks than Adam & Jamie's steam cannon!

Ok, it was close, but we still won. It really gave a good representation of just how much power there is in black powder. One pound of Goex pushing a 7-pound ball did more damage than the concentrated force of an exploding overloaded water heater.

Check it out on the Discovery Channel rerun or on line! It is titled "Revenge of the Myth" -- this was the third episode we've appeared in: "Pirate Special" (episode #71) and "Pirates 2" (episode #92) being the first two. Both have some great high-speed photos of the cannon firing.

Still waiting for the "Stone Cannonball" episode, though they may sit on that one a while due to some bad press related to their cannonball, a couple houses and a mini-van.

    Cool!
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

I bought 200 pinballs on eBay. Smaller than "period" canister balls, but work. I also have steel bearings that are 3 1/16" -- a little undersized for the bore, but still hit 1400 fps. About 7# each.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that they didn't put enough effort into designing their steam cannon. Fun fact: you set it up right, you can get a bowling ball to fly a mile or more behind steam power.

(of course, your cannon is a far more efficient method of breaking things.)

Was that the one that they used a chain to rip the pig down the middle?

That was cool would be neat to see it.

That was in "Pirates 2" episode 92. I still have the chain! Search YouTube for it; it's there.
