Which show do you go to? This is something I'm thinking of as well.

It lets you order C&R long guns from out of state and have them shipped to your door.

In addition, for several mail order outfits (like Midway and Brownells) you get Dealer Pricing. Those discounts easily exceed the cost of the license.

If I never bought another C&R, I would hang on to my license just for the discounts.
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
      Come on...what harm??

Indeed. You are licensed to buy C&R firearms across state lines (which is Federal law territory). Thats the as simple as I can put it. If a resident of state A see's a C&R firearm in state B, he can purchase it on the spot, or have it shipped direct to his door acting as his own FFL, there by saving time and money.

California law necessarily confuses the issue, and all shipped handguns must go through an FFL01. I have bought several C&R handguns out of state with my 03 and brought them home. Send in a form and your done.

Of course in 2012, it wont be worth anything for those purposes. All long guns will have to go through an FFL just like handguns. I understand there is an exemption if you have a FFL03/COE, but good luck with that...

Its still worth the ten bucks a year to get the 'dealer' pricing, access to SHOT etc... Hell, I have two of them....

This sort of thing is what I'm worried about with my upcoming trip to Idaho (I'm going to be dropping by a gun show in Boise while I'm there).

Idaho will likely be better as far as attitudes go. Arizona shares a busy border with CA, and plenty of people try and buy guns, even legal and uncontrolled stuff like high caps to bring back. Various Police agencys try and **** with AZ residents at gun shows too. I wonder how many man hours the DOJ spends in NV and AZ at gun shows crusing the parking lots looking for CA plates.... I wouldnt sell to any CA resident either unless they had everything squared away.

CA prejudice is rampant country wide, and with good reason, but I think you will have better luck in a state like ID.
