M1 carbine folder

Friend found a folder Stock no rifle at garage sale and curios of how to tell real from repo The brass rivets holding the leather have some # like 75 and 74 .Dont have picks as I just looked at it . Any help would be great To me it looks to new to be real.

The reproduction folders can look very similar to the originals. Unless you some experience looking at both, you might get fooled. I think that unless you post photos, you are not going to get an accurate answer to your question. Hope to see photos soon.

OT, but related -

Be aware, that if you attach an M1A1 carbine folding stock (and pistol grip) to your M1, You'll have to mag lock it and bring the OAL to 30" or you'll be assembling an "AW". Make sure you always follow the flow cart.

+1 and the OAL has to be 30" with the stock folded, unless you pin the stock in the open position. You also cannot use pre ban mags <10 rounds even after you mag lock it.

Wow... @ a garage sale. That's a great find. Real or repro. I'd assemble it in a free state and put it back to its original form upon entering California.

How much did your buddy pick it up for?

if you go try to find a carbine to put it on, try to get an Inland, as the original A1s were Inlands.
