    Scoping a Steyr M95

I want to scope an M95 while maintaining it's original military integrity.
Basically, easy on easy off without drilling and etc...

I don't know what options are out there.

Additionally, is there an original scoped version out there? Or were they ever scoped at all?

S & K scope mounts makes an "insta mount" mount for the M95 which are scout mounts weaver style with a long and short version. Scout mounts can be reversed and mounted without drilling and tapping.

A quick search turned up these guys:

Looks like they claim to have a couple options that don't require drilling. Can't speak for the company, it was just a search hit.

EDIT: I guess Warrior King is faster than me...

OHOD do you have a way to buy or load ammo good enough to use with a scope?

Why? Steyrs are so damn expensive to shoot.

            Yes.
While I have mostly surplus right now, I plan on getting a die set.
Currently, Big103 is reloading them and he has some good data.

But, what it cost you is not what it is worth.

                    It is an interesting project.

While true, I don't feel the hit to the wallet these days if I feel like going through a few boxes. I could resell what I have for half of what most people ask for it and I'd still come out ahead.

I just scored 500 rounds at $0.40 a piece. Plan on keeping the brass and reloading. Even if it is Berdan primed, I'll make it happen. Got me about 30 clips, so I think I'm good to go for a while.

Yep! Don't toss any of that berdan brass.
It's excellent stuff. I'm currently on my 4th reloaded batch of it.
Haven't had any neck splits yet. Though I'm sure I'm getting close.

When you want to get in to the chore of loading your 8X56R berdan cases, the primer and correct cup height for 8X56R is 5,5mm (.217").

You can get them here - They're a bit pricey, but this is about the only place you can get em.
