    A word about the SRDC

Guys, if you visit there please understand that it is a multi-lingual website. There are three of us that moderate the forums and sometimes a response from one of our European moderators can be taken out of context. He's multilingual in Dutch, German, Spanish, French and Swiss -German and English and once in a while his comments can come across very much other than he intended.

Guisan is an incredibly kind and helpful gentleman, and I truly know of nobody else with his extensive knowledge and willingness to help new Swiss rifle owners.

The SRDC is my home, but CalGuns has become my second favorite place to be. It would be a disservice to Guisan if you thought he was other than that which most of us on the SRDC know him to be. It's hard enough with 1 language, but with 6, you can get easily the wong impression typed into a post.

I will always answer anything you need to know about Swiss rifles, and if I don't know the answer, my Father certainly does. (I almost said "Our Father", but though I've heard people mistakenly call him St. Pierre, he hasn't reached that status yet! )

I vouch for Guinan's very extensive knowledge on Swiss rifles and his willingness to help is beyond measure.

Being a trilingual myself, I understand about the issues associated with different languages and something will be lost/changed in the translation. Also remember that us Americans have a language on our own and not close to the Queens English.

In my lurking on the SRDC forums (I plunked down money for K31 before research and scrambled to find whatever I could), I always found that Guisan was one of the go-to's and never really saw a major hang-up in his posts or English. I read he was Dutch (I think) and it didn't really show in his posts.

I do kick myself for forgetting SRDC forums and thank you for directing me back there when you helped on my preserving my stock thread. It's a great community over there; I think I haven't joined because I've always found an answer. Lol.
