    VZ52 Almost done.

Finished reassembling our ZV52 after removing the "bed liner" from the stock and refinishing it. Here's are before and after pics.

The wood on the upper handguard is much lighter than the rest of the stock.I stained it with "Gun stock brown". It looks much redder in the pic than it does in real life, flash maybe? The main stock is a very dull brown. I still need to reblue the metal part of the upper handguard. Open to suggestion on that. Still need to shoot it too

Good job mate! That thing looks a heck of a lot better. I do know an awesome rebluer out of new york, I think precision bluing was the name of the shop

I was hoping to reblue it myself. How hard can it be

I've seen the smiths I work for do a good job with various cold blue products from brownells

Always puts a smile on my face to see a rifle returned to it's original configuration. Nice work! I hope it shoots well too.

It's almost done! Awesome work, Dad. Really neat to see how far it's come since I left. There are some pretty good do-it-yourself bluing products out there, I remember one from some work a guy did on a Romanian Tokarev, I'll see if I can find a link to what he used, it looked great. Anyhoo, keep up the good work and, if you shoot it, be sure to really clean it well, that 7.62x45mm Surplus is supposed to be super corrosive.
