    CZ-82 Range report

Remember that CZ-82 I bought from JG a couple weeks ago?

I do and so does my thumb.

Brought it to the range and shot some silver and bronze Bear ammunition through it.
    Shoots nice, and remarkably accurate!
Not a single malfunction. Overall a nice shooting pistol. I kept the rounds within a 5 inch circle at 12 yards. Not bad. A few went astray, but hey...it was a windy day.

Only one downside, that thing is snappy! The recoil is kind of harsh.
    Small pistol?
    Caliber?
    Light weight gun?

    You got me.

Bought 20 boxes of Nagant ammo from JG Sales.
Need to go to the range again next week.

Is it in 7.62 x 25 Tokarev? If so... yep - that's "snappy" ammo... Really deep penetration. One heck of a little round.

I have a CZ52 in that round, love to shoot it!

Well that shows you what I know!

I just tonight saw them in the J&G ad and realized they aren't 7.62 Tok. Oops

And hey... what did you call me?

            Stronger recoil spring maybe?

Is recoil hurtin your thumb??? How is that? My thumb hurts from loading the mags since that ninth round never seems to want to go in. I ended up getting an uplula and man is it amazing! I believe they are going for $25 or so on amazon right now...

IIRC it's a blowback action, thus making it snappy

Yup. Nice recoil, but the grip is pretty "ergonomic" which helps mitigate the pain.
You should try shooting that same round through a P64: "Ouch!"

Agree with dogfood: .22s aside, blowback guns KICK! Maybe that's why they're called that??? (Kidding). You should try an Astra 400 in 9x21 Largo sometime--"snappy" indeed.

Yea, P64 sure do kick and bite. Can't wait to get a CZ82, PA63 and a Makarov.

Took my CZ 82, that I bought 4 weeks back to the range. It's very accurate and very snappy, kick really hard. I can only imagine the recoil on P64 Now :-)

When you try a P64, my suggestion is use a shooting glove or grow lots of callouses.

When I first bought mine it stung a little bit. I bought a hogue rubber sleeve with finger grooves, I love it.
