recent C&R acquisitions!

4-screw S-prefix Model 29, with palm-swell "coke" grips, found at the Reno show - one of my favorite acquisitions to date; the rollmarks have been "filled in" with "Bonanza" gold paint, apparently popular in the 60's. The gun is in nearly immaculate condition:

Yup - for S&W collectors, every year from now until ~30 years from now will "unlock" a whole lot of desirable 3-screw revolvers!

Oh my... that's every gun on my wish list right now... each and every one of them! The only think that is missing is a S&W M586, which I see Smith just re-released and I have to get one. I had one years ago and sold it and regret it every time I'm reminded of it. A beautiful one in 4". I don't sell guns anymore - just buy them.

That M29 is gorgeous! That's one of my favorite guns. I have a few of them, but nothing that nice (629's). I unfortunately got on a Stainless Steel kick many years ago so all of mine are SS right now, but I am SO itching to own a blue one. And many other blue guns to go with it. I just think that blue is so much nicer, classier, smoother looking.

You posted those just to torture me didn't you? You've been talking to my friends or something and made a list of my want list... didn't you?

It is my first Tokarev - I was on the fence about it, but am glad I snagged it - the fit is really nice, and the ergonomics are actually pretty solid (though looking at the gun you would never know it).

Also...the safety - Classic Arms refers to these safeties as "installed at the factory" which I believe is not correct - IIRC the importer, Century Arms, installs them. But in any case they have solid/positive engagement, and are fitted very nicely (even though not original to the design) so you can ignore it....

That 29 is a beauty! What year was it made? I guess one of the advantages of handguns is since they are smaller, they store more easily without damage from scratching, etc.

I would have liked my tokarev a lot more if I could hit the broadside of a barn with it... That being said there was something very enjoyable about shooting it... That CZ-82 is one of my favorite handguns so very accurate for such a small pistol. I would love to have a revolver with that level of finish and deep bluing...

Order placed online on Tuesday @9PM pacific; they shipped to my FFL on Friday, goods delivered on Monday.

(I did have to call and get tracking as their website was never updated to show real-time processing of the order.)
