    SKS Bring backs

Gotch-ya! Not what you were thinking I'd bet. These are SKSs that I brought back into what I would consider decent looking, safe, consistant group, shooters. All had some minor mechanical or major neglect issues. While others had cracked or missing furniture, or Bubba brushed against it to hard. Only the 2 with bayos are in the orignal wood. The '59 Rommy had a limp safety, and the laminate Egyptian Contract was a single shot when I got it. The ATI Drag I worked over into what felt right and looked way better than ATI made it. Shaved off the upper forearm risers, added deep finger grooves between the vent holes, and thumb and finger grooves on the pistol grip. The '60 Rommy got some Chinese wood. The Sino-Soviet got the best of the extra wood I had, but no matching wood handguard. Since the "Cheese Grater" and the Cutts style brake complement each other, that's what it got. Not a big fan of the Tapco but the Para looks great in it with ATI hand guard. Same rounded profile. The pistol grip has Hogue slip on rubber finger grooves. It handles like a champ even if it's a little heavier. It's my baby. Wadda-ya think. PAX

Cool! But, are you going to put some blades on the un-bubba'd?

I never liked the attached bayonetts.
When out shooting on public land there is always someone who ambles by and sees something with a bayonette attached and gets nervous, then you may end up dealing with the local LEOS, who needs those hassles?

Really? haha. You're shooting a gun, and its the bayonette that makes them nervous?

Nice collection though. I want to get my SKS back up and working again. You've inspired me.

Screw the other people at the range if it makes them nervous. Cry babies. And if a LEO comes out, one should not worry. Unless you got something to hide. Bayonets are not illegal on an SKS here in Kali. But, like them or not is to each his own.

I've got blade, spike, and para bayos for all. but until I get the right wood for each they'll stay off. I'm trying work a deal for a Norinco that I'll cut down, put on a Prince 50 sight, and fit to that T-6. Then I'll put the Para back in original shape, including the bayo. Got a couple Enfields on the back burner too. This makes 'em nervous, or drool. PAX
