    K98 Question

So I have recently aquired a Gi Return K98 with al original proofs and matching numbers. The stock hass been duffel cut and previous owner sanded the rear part of stock. I am thinking of buying a replacement original stock for the gun when it becomes a collection piece. Now does this up the value or does it not matter since it didnt leave the floor with that stock. The original stock has been sanded to where there are no proofs or numbers anymore so I figured would be good to find a nice original sock. A

Any tips, comments would be helpful from the mauser experts

As far as I know a period correct stock for a "43 J.P.Sauer K98k (ce 43) would be laminated with a cupped buttplate.
It will also have 359 or 280/359 Waffenamt stamps.

Check with this guy (Mario), he is in the Netherlands but he ships to the U.S.
He has a very good reputation with the Mauser guys.

                Mario's stuff is legit.

Have gotten a few items from him, yeah, s/h is expensive . . . especially for a stock but worth it!!

If you replace the stock with another correct one, keep the one you replaced with the rifle.
