Century just imported a bunch of Type 53's from an unnamed eastern European country. J&G most likely got them from Century.

            Century's Dealer Prices are:

            $149.87 - Fair
            $159.87 - Good
            $149.87 - Good w/Cracked Stocks

            Century's Prosaic Description:

Chinese Type 53 Carbine, Cal. 7.62x54R

Curio & Relic. Century once again offers you rare examples of Sino-Soviet cooperation from a bygone era! The Type 53 is a copy of the famous Russian M44 carbine, and like its predecessor is chambered in 7.62x54R. We were able to locate a cache of these carbines where they have been conserved for decades just waiting to be re-issued. Needless to say - these won't be around forever. If you are a collector of Mosin-Nagants, this is a fantastic opportunity to add a hard to find carbine to your collection. Barrel: 20.25", Overall: 40", Weight: 9 lbs.
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
            Come on...what harm??

These haven’t been around for years! The Chinese Type 53 is a powerful carbine in 7.62x54 caliber. This lot is in good to very good condition and comes with side folding bayonet. Chinese marking on receiver ring. Overall length 40”, barrel length 20” and comes with 5rd box magazine. Production ended in the 1960’s on these carbines.
