    hey Latigo!

    Hey Latigo,

Which would you recommend as a brother for my K31. A G11 or a K11?

If you can get a good one from Simpsons, the G11 (generally) has the accuracy edge on the k31. Longer barrel and longer sight radius gives it that edge. The k11 usually follows the k31 in accuracy, but I really love those little rifles. The k11 just "feels good", but........... My feeling is that you'll be more than happy with the G11.
The G11's accuracy is exactly why we've developed a new scope mount, but we're also following right up with a P/S11 Diopter to use with that new mount on the G11. This is a tough call to make. If you intend having all three eventually, I'd probably get the k11 first. They're becoming incrasingly scarce.

*Forgot to mention the new system will work on the k11 too.*

        Yup.
This is the only side I can show right now. The patent application isn't back yet.

                You kids be good now...

Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

What is the exact skinny on which models can shoot GP11 and which cannot? I never got that straight.

                          The 96/11, the 1911, the k11, the k31, the zfk55 and the stg57. All use the GP11.

My Dad wrote this a long time ago responding to someone who wrote to him about the Swiss Rifles.
                          --------------------------------------------------------------------------.

The k31 and it's mates, the 1911, k11 and the rare (in the US) zfk55 Swiss Sniper Rifle are a rarity in another category. A Military series of rifles rifles designed around a specific cartridge for accuracy and performance.

The intent of this cartridge/rifle mating was to hit a human in the kill zone at range and they performed as intended. Not many production rifles are capable of doing that. The very great majority of these rifles perform exactly as intended.

Are there rifles that outperform it? Of course there are, but none of them are a standard military issue firearm designed around a dedicated production cartridge for that rifle.

The purpose of this missive is to illustrate that there are differences between issue rifles and custom made and custom tuned rifles.

Latigo, thank you for contributing here.
