    Future rifle Purchase

Debating my future rifle purchase for the summer. Do I sell my two Swedish Mausers (M96 and M38) and buy an SVT40 or Keep the swedes?

Keep the Swedes! The Swedish Mausers are the best examples of the breed. I wish I had an M38 to go with my M96... on second thought, sell the Swedes... to me!

      Just kidding.

Keep the Swedes and buy a Mosin. For just over $100, it's hard to beat. Milsurp ammo still cheap and plentiful, and Prvi Partizan makes reasonably priced Boxer/brass 7.62x54R for when that dries up.

i doubt we will normalize trade relations with russia any time soon... if this supposition is true then the SVT-40 will continue to be rare and as such would be my choice.
/Also IMHO the SVT40 is quite bad-*** in its own right.

The poll numbers speak for themselves.

You've held out without an SVT-40 this far, what's a couple weeks more gonna do?

Ok, what is the thing that we all see on every gun board? People whining about this or that gun that they used to have, but sold/gave away/traded, and now they regret it. Don't be that guy. Unless your kid needs a kidney or something, don't sell your old guns. You WILL regret it. If you are short of cash, sell your modern ones. They can be replaced. Normally for close to what you sold them for. Not so with old guns. I bought my Swedes for under $100 each. Except for one that I paid $129 for. And I hemmed and hawwed about that. Now I couldn't expect to find any in that kind of condition for under $400. If you sell your Swedes now, how hard do you think it will be to replace them later? And you WILL want to replace them, because you will realize just how cool they are about 5 minutes after you sell them. Save up your nickels and dimes. Get new guns as you can afford them. Don't throw away guns that you will miss later.
