My 91/30 with a scope

Scope from ebay - $35
ATI mount - $23 (mount cut to allow sniper bolt to operate)
Bolt converted into turned down bolt (from ebay) - $30

Went to my buddies house and he helped me mount this. Took about 1 hour to do. It was alot of work, now I know why gunsmiths charge a good price. We also bore sighted it. Tell me what you think

Grab that scope at the eye piece, move it left to right, and let me know how much it moves!

That will tell you how great the mount is!

I think you should use lower scope rings if bolt clearance will allow.

I think you should use some sort of elevated, slip-on cheekpad to achieve proper eye alignment with the scope.

I think you should shoot it and report back the results, so if it shoots 1.5 inch or less groups at 100 yards, you don't need to worry about what the rest of us think!

I think it's now worth less than half of what you have in it and won't shoot any better than it would with iron sights.

I installed a Scout Scope/ Dovetail Mount for a total of $57.94 using the NcStar NC-RS-SPB2732B 2-7x32 Scope and Leapers LP-MT-RGPMOFS38-25H4 Dovetail Mount from Optics Planet. Shot about 150 rounds at 100 yards...scope zeroed in fine and held up on two seperate shootings. The dovetail mount is solid. Now I need better ammo to tighten the groups.

Also, the Scope Mount has an offset, so I can reverse the mounting and move the scope closer to the shooter, but I like this LER position.
