I ordered a CMP M1 carbine and used a credit card to pay for it. I had the money set aside for it from some NG duty so no sweat. Then I saw a sweet Colt Detective Special for sale on this forum so I used that money to pay for the Colt (thanks Jim!) but I figured, no sweat it will be a couple of months until the carbine is processed. I'm in the process of selling another piece which will cover the carbine. I come home from drill today to find an email saying the carbine order has been processed. Yikes!! SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED will have a coniption fit when she sees the charge without the corresponding dinero to offset it. Oh well, hopefully the carbine will be in nice shape and she can't stay mad at me for ever - I don't think so at least

I went for the Inland since it was cheaper. I may play like I'm complaining but she really has been a good sport about my gun buying for the past 30 years. I hope this doesn't push her over the edge though. I'll show her the picture I took of her back in 81 holding a previous M1 carbine that I bought at a gun show in Colorado Springs. I'll just tell her I had a chance to buy the same gun back again! She won't know the difference

Quick! Hurry over to Jared and buy her a set of diamond earrings. When she sees that charge right after the charge for the carbine she won't be able to get mad at you. If she does, tell her "Sorry honey, I'll cancel the M1 and return your new earrings." but I doubt it will get that far.

I used to go through that with my wife, until I showed her when she went out shopping and came home from Macy's for new outfits and shoes every month that cost about the same as my firearms purchases.

I've done that before and told mine I bought it for her B-day and then another at Xmas. It kinda worked except she kept them and wouldn't let me use them.
