I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

+1 on the Past. I have the Magnum Plus one that my wife/kids use when they shoot some of my milsurps. I also like using it to increase my LOP when I shoot my PSL.

I use a PACT. Looks pretty much like your pic, OP. Got it through Midwayusa.

I wear it for the 30-06 rifles.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

            This is better. Much better.

Most of the guys who shoot the milsurp silhouette matches at Sac Valley use them. I think I have 3 of them.

This is the pad I use: http://www.cabelas.com/product/Kick-...h-All+Products

It's more expensive than the one above, but it also looks a lot better IMO. Plus it's real easy to transfer between rifles. I find the medium size works on most of my rifles.

On the 16th I shot over 200 rounds of 8mm Mauser out of my Yugo, metal butt plate. Ended the day with a sore shoulder, few days later I noticed the yellow skin from bruising. then last Saturday I did a match and shoot on top of that bruise. Well, it hurt like hell and I got used to it. I forgot of the pain because of my shotty shooting. I don't got a bruise now, its just a little tender.

I'll never get a pad or replace the metal butt plate!

                ps, fat helps too.

I bought one of those (Bob Allen-brand) at Big 5 for $20 or so. It works great and you can use it with any gun you want and not have to consider altering a collectable rifle to enjoy shooting it. I've seen them at Sportsman's Warehouse too.

I shoot a few rifles that kick more than I like, and I got my recoil pad from Cabela's. It has saved me from a lot of bruising, although if I overdo it, my shoulder is still tender for a few days. No idea what it's made from, but it seeems to work well.
