    New 03 Record???

This may be a new record!?

I accidentally allowed my 03 to expire. I found out on Dec.23 when I got it out to make a copy for use picking up a Mauser receiver from a guy on Gunbroker. Boy was I surprised...

So after making arrangements with the seller to hold my purchase until I could get a current copy to him, I filled out the online PDF form and sent it in(on Dec. 23rd). The charge showed up on my credit card on Dec 29th. I figured I would have the new license by mid February.

I went out to the mailbox this afternoon and what did I find? My new 03!!!

Let the draining of the wallet continue!!!
If it ain't broke, keep fixin' it 'til it is...

Hey, I thought receivers are not considered C&R:

    From ATF Rule 85-10

ATF has recognized only assembled firearms as curios or relics.Frames or receivers of curios or relics
Maybe I've heard it wrong all these years, and maybe this only applies to military C&R's. But the last time I tried ordering a "C&R" receiver with my 03 FFL, I was told no-go, it had to ship to an 01 FFL. YMMV as always!
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
    Come on...what harm??

Did you get a whole new number or was this just a renewal? I've heard people recommend letting it expire and then reapplying a month later, that way they can throw out the old book and start over. Sounds like a plan to me

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

Unless you're sloppy with your records or your book is a mess, I don't see the point.
