    T.Barker .410 Shotgun

    Hey all,

for my 25th birthday my dad just gave me a T.Barker .410 single barrel shotgun. My grandmother said her brother gave it to my dad when he was seven, and now my dad has given it to me. The thing is absolutely mint, I guess my dad never let anyone touch it, I didn't know he had it. I know they're not a valuable gun or anything, not that it matters because it's a family piece, but I'm just curious to know some history on these things because I've never heard anything. Google search is wishy-washy, but the consistent piece of info is that they were commonly sold at hardware stores long ago.

    Bestow your knowledge upon me!

I think I would go with a Telecaster. The bolt on neck would be the strongest to deal with terrorist zombies. I know most folks will say Strat, but I think the trem system is unreliable.
I mean, who needs to dive bomb when SHTF? That only happens in movies.

Breach-loading single shots are a blast. I have 3 others. Half the fun is letting them pop the spent shell out 10-feet behind you. Single shots are GREAT for training new shotgun users, clays, and making more of a challenge with shooting game. Most aren't very valuable since they're not as desirable.

Pretty gun! Almost too nice to shoot. The cost of .410 shells will help you keep the gun in fine condition!
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

When I started shooting a .410 back in the early 1950s, the shells cost $1.25 a box. And that was for the AWESOME .410 3" Magnums (The 2 1/2" were cheaper, but who wanted those dinky things?). I still shoot .410s, but now I handload.

I've thought about doing that with brass .410 cases but I don't want to buy another press, at the moment. You can get regular dies and reload them like normal pistol/rifle cases...

That shotgun is gorgeous! Normally you see these guns on the used market and they are terribly beat up and run-down. You have a real fine treasure there!
