    K31 Range Report

Took my new toy out to USI today @ the 100 yd line. Saw Tango5 & Sammy there!

Had the hits on paper @ 50 yds, but high & left. The adjustment on the Front Sight is neat! No prob to get the windage good.
Put the target out @ 100 yds. Still shot about 4-5" high @ 100 yds, off a rest. The rear sight really made my eyes work to align them w/ the front sight.
I had to unclip the Sling after 3 shots, as it dug into my jaw & kinda hurt during recoil!

The Action is so smooth & so cool! Trigger has a long takeup, broke broke smooth & OK. Size & weight of the rifle is good. Recoil is manageable w/ a shoulder pad. All in all, pretty decent gun. Previous owner put a nice finish on it & the metal is in great shape.

    I shot 30 rounds & saved 30 rounds of the GP11 ammo.

So after it is said & done, I think I will resell it. The sights & sling clip things bug me too much. Look for an ad in the Marketplace later tonight.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

Recoil feels like a sharper 30-06 but nothing bad; 60rds in a t-shirt and I had slight outline of butt on my shoulder. Group really well. Milsurp GP11 is great and really clean and accurate. I love mine and that's why I'm so ready to buy Bruce's.

Just so you know I PM'd him first.

(Well I just only inquired about the price TBH). I'm on the fence about the Swiss rifles at the moment.

The recoil impulse of these seems to be on the higher part of the milsurp scale, but like DasBoost said, it's really nothing bad whatsoever. I had a blast the time I got to shoot one.

I've got TWO older BP derringer kits that I'd be willing to use as trading stock. So, instead of selling it for cash, I'm sure we can work out some sort of trade.

I'm always a few mins late. D@mn... If only I had called in sick and refreshed the C&R board waiting for this thread.

Recoil isn't that bad. Fired Mosin, Enfield, Garand, and the K31 isn't all that bad and feels like same ballpark as the others.

Pull the bolt to extract, and push forward to chamber, K31s are fun to use at rapid prone in a Garand match, shoot it again at prone as I'm sure the ergonomics will make sense.

Center hold for an SR or SR1 target gets me in the 10 or X ring with GP11 or my reloads.

Trigger, GP11, and barrel condition make these rifles a bang for your buck! All you need is to dry fire . . .

These rifles are also fun to shoot off hand.

Recoil is about the same as a 98k for me. I always wear a shooting jacket with a pad that distributes the recoil over a larger area. I'm reloading a hundred or so 7.5 cases for my K31s as I write this. I love my K31 with the left hand adapter on it. What a honey!

A 98k with the late 30s 198gr 8mm has a very nice recoil, step down from Turk ammo.

Turk ammo fired off a 98k is the bomb if you want to experience recoil impulse especially at off hand.

GP11's recoil is nice and mild like a Sunday afternoon drive.
