    Uncle Sam's Present

Last May, I had the pleasure of shooting in the Navy Fleet West and All Navy Rifle and Pistol Competition. For the first time shooting High Power, I didn't do too bad. I walked away with a SecNav Trophy Rifle, an M1 Garand. It's going to be a gift for my Father who shot Garands back in the 70's. I thought I'd post a few pics as I am very proud of it and was amazed at how preserved it was. Enjoy.

    Nice. Congrats!
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

Anyone can buy a Garand, you were awarded this one for demonstrating exceptional capability.
You have every right to be proud. I hope your father recognizes the magnitude of the gift.

        Well done.

The trophy rifles used to be 7.62mm, still the case? Very nice and good job!

The first place rifles (aggrigate score between rifle and bullseye service pistol) are Mk II in .308 and the seconds are 30-06. This is in 30-06. Hopefully this year, maybe a Mk II. Time to hit up the range
