SKS accuracy issue

Hey folks, the other day I went to the range with the SKS wearing a tight fitting receiver cover scope mount, with tension screws. Scope was a BSA Tactical Rifle Scope 4x.

At 25 yards using Wolf ammo, i was NEVER able to zero the scope. It would bullseye, then way high, then way (over 6") low, it was very frustrating. The barrel looks flawless. However, i can grab the stock, and the barrel, and the entire barreled action wobbles up and down about 1.8" to 1/4"

Obviously this can cause problems. What can be done about it? Even the ATI stock I have does the same thing, whole action wobbles up and down.

I should add that the wobble is towards the fore end. Not back by the reciever.

My experience with SKS receiver cover scope mounts... poor to awful.
If the whole action wobbles up and down then it's not going work so well.
Shim it maybe ?
Optics on SKS's is a no go on mine. I put Fire Sights on one and that works pretty well.

Don't worry about him the eggnog is kicking in.

Simple solution thermal lite. I have a tri-mount scope for sale and held zero great. Just ad some thermal life and zero is tried and true.

Try building up the front end of the stock with epoxy. The part that fits into the ferrule. I had a similar problem with a Romanian SKS. I used epoxy on the stock to fill in the gap. Now it's tight.

To be clear, not the front end of the stock, but in the channel at the end of the stock, so the ferrule pushes the stock upward. You can also build up the channel at the back of the stock or use a shim. This will push the action tighter into the "recoil" lug.
