    Swiss Auction finds..

I glommed several Swiss rifles at auction today and had a few questions. One of the items was a nice looking K31 in a walnut stock.

Several of the K31's, including the one I nabbed, had stickers on the handguard which I've not seen before. Anyone seen these before or know what they signify?

    Thanks

Competition marks. Where was the auction?

Those are most likely (without seeing them in detail) shooting match stamps as Cessnapilot89 mentioned. You'll also note that the "p" behind the safety is a stamping that was used to denote a privatized rifle, one that had been purchased, given, or won by a civilian and retired from military use.

I'll also second the question, where was this auction? Do you know what that particular rifle sold for?

Thanks, guys. I've never heard of competition stamps before and am now anxious to see them "in the flesh".

The auction was in Orange County. I do know what that rifle went for, I won it.

Glad for you. The story of Wilhelm Tell will mean more to you now.

Yeah, the stickers mean that the rifle passed inspection so you can shoot.

                  These rifles are cool.

Show-up in a Garand match - you'll love that rifle shooting rapid prone!

Got a chance to look over this rifle and grab a picture of the sticker before it went into my FFL's safe for a 10 day waiting period. The rifle looks great and has a great bore.

Here is a picture of the competition sticker on the handguard. Anyone know which match this was?

                        Thanks

Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...
