    .303 ammo box

For those who aren't familiar with these: A .303 wood ammo box known as a 'liner' inside of which was a metal box with a pull tab type opening arrangement. The ammunition inside could be belted (as was this) in bandoliers and chargers or in 48 round boxes. I had a bunch of these at one time when they could still be purchased complete with ammunition. Sadly I have only two liners left, both are empty.

I have one of those. Luckily it's still full of ammo in bandoliers and chargers.
One of the more interesting ammo crates.

      Veeeery Interesting!
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

I've a got a few full sealed cases too, of 1944 Radway Green and 1945 Greenwood and Batley. Mine are all still steel banded containing the liner and 32rnd boxes.
The empty wood boxes alone I've seen go for $50 bucks on E-baY.

My most recent box had RG50 ball in bandoliers. Very accurate stuff. I gave the box to a Joe home on leave from Iraq as a thank you gift. He was shooting a Lee Enfield at the same range as me and thought the box was cool so he got it but I kept the ammo. Still have two bandoliers left.
