    My first M91/30

I just bought my first M91/30 yesterday. I think I might be on a C&R kick for awhile. I don't know too much about buying C&R guns but the wood wasn't cracked and the barrel was in decent shape. Good grooves but a little dirty. I guess I have some reading to do. I did read the prices for 7.62x54r ammo. Damn, I should have bought a 22.

Big 5, in Casa de Oro, is where I bought it. I never bought anything other than shotgun ammo there before and I was pleasantly surprised at the service. Steve, the guy working the gun counter was cool. He brought out all the Mosin Nagants they had in the back and let me check them all out. Steve actually knew a little about guns as we chatted about guns in general for awhile. He answered my questions about what I should look for in a C&R gun and helped me pick a beauty. I'll put up a pic when I bring her home in 9 1/2 days.

if you want to shoot your gunf or relatively cheap (and using non magnetic ammo) give me a PM. the MN can be relaoded for really easilya nd cheaply.

ps: better yet sell that gun now before you have two safes full of these "cheap" guns that "you don't care about beating up". the illness works like this:

    m91/30
m91/30 reproduction sniper... what a bargain, this is the only long gun ill ever need ... oh wait...
    whoa! m38!
    m39... ooh
    m39 m39 m39 m39

Mosin's rock. They are steep with history. I doubt there is a Mosin that didn't see war use and possibly end up with 2 separate owners during the war. "One man gets a gun, the other gets the ammo". Germans were knocking on the doors of the armory as they were passing rifles out to protect the homeland. And lets not forget the Finns.

M44 and 91/30 sniper chiming in here...

I also have two more 91/30 barrelled receivers that I will be building, one of them should be done soon (got all the parts, just waiting on the last items), it'll be built as a standard 91/30.. The other one I"m still deciding on.

              54r ROCKS.
Alot isn't a word and allot isn't the word you think it is.

I'd really like a Colt 1903 frame, bad finish okay!
I'm also looking for a good deal on a 1911 frame or two for budget/spare parts builds.
