    Bound Book Template Question

Hey all. Before I use it, I would like to get your opinion to see if my bound book template has the necessary data needed. Hoping for a double check. Please see the attached PDF, and feel free to use it.

The 'double check' as you call it should be in the pile of info you received from the BATFE when you got the license. Have you read it?

I didnt get a pile of info... only the license. whats wrong with you? woke up on the wrong side of the bed? dont bother if it troubles you. There is nothing wrong with getting work double checked on. A second set of eyes has been known to catch errors every now and then.

        Sorry, lack of caffeine.

But you should have received either a huge pile of info including the gun laws in all states, and/or a CD with same...I'd call your local office if all you received was the license & they can resend the package to you.

        From the BATFE webiste...http://ecfr.gpoaccess.gov/cgi/t/text....8.1.6&idno=27

Start around halfway down the page under the heading "(f) Firearms receipt and disposition by licensed collectors."

            Did you make this?

I've been using one that's been posted up on a lot of forums and it seemed ok for my needs but I do notice some advantages to the one you posted up. On the one I have been using, the place to enter a buyer's driver license number is a vertical space, so you have to enter it sideways, also it only has room for 4 rifles per page, yours has 6. I printed it out and I may consider using this for the next pages I do, not sure.

The only thing I see that may need adjusting is the disposition side says "date of acquisition" when I would think it should say "date of disposal" but that is very minor.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

Yes I made the form. I did find other templates online but I wasnt too happy with the look and/or layout. Thats why I went with my own.

And I also agree that it should not say 'Date of Acquistion' within the 'Dispostion' column. This is exactly why I wanted someone to take a look at it. Thank you. I think I am going to change it to just say 'Date'.

              Thank you for your help!

Also, print a page out and then make 5 sample entries. (Use Aim/J&G/Century Arms's addresses as samples)

You may find yourself running out of space in some of the fields. (or not)

If not, you're good to go. Otherwise, 4 or 3 (or even 1) entries to a page aren't necessarily bad.

(If you recently received your C&R the BIG packet will arrive soon in the mail - it usually follows about a week or so later - at least mine did)

Good pointer for the printing. I did this and adjusted them already. I think the fields should work out fine for my printing style.

I will keep an eye out for the Big Packet!

My packet came a week after. Your form looks different but in a good way. I saved a copy (even with the typo).

To piggy back on this, is there a requirement to fill out this form by hand or can one use it electronically but have a printed copy.

Most bound books are handwritten. So I wouldn't see why it would be an issue. 10% stated about once you reached the last entry on a page to print it up. I can't seemnto find his post about it right now though
