It looks a little worn: perhaps a low service grade in CMP terms. The furniture is very nice; not very authentic though. If it is in working order, $600 is a fair price.

If the barrel is in decent shape and that is a real lockbar rear sight (Which they appear to be) it is a more than fare price. From what can be seen in the photos, the barrel and rear sight appear to be original to the receiver. Looks like a nice April 1944 Garand.

I would buy it if no import markings.

Looks to be a Danish return from the CMP. Stock looks like a beech replacement which many came with. Is there a serial number stamped on the lower rear of the butt stock?

It is a rebuild, typical mixmaster.

Before I preceded I make sure it is USGI, no import markings, TE & MW readings and the bore is not dark/pitted and lastly not a reweld.

What other import marks besides ARL Ordnance and Blue Sky are there?

There are no import marks on it. It was a Danish return to the Army.

If you parted it out, you could probably get $700-$800 so in my book that makes it worth it.

I don't think I'd ever sell it but it's comforting knowing that it's a good deal.

Hard to say with those pictures. From the M2 ball picture, it's probably 3 or better on muzzle wear, looks like maybe a 1/16" to the case. The M2 ball check is just a rule of thumb though. The gun looks clean, and it has a lot of decent parts including that lockbar sight knob. Ask for detailed pictures inside and out of the receiver, and if it's a cmp/dcm gun. There were a ton of rewelds when M1's weren't available to the public.
