Best place for corrosive surplus ammo (bring a bottle of soapy water) - for me has been: ~$0.20/rnd or less.

Then; the local Gun Shows - miwalls always has bulk mi-surplus ammo for cheap.

Then; SOG http://www.southernohiogun.com/ (their website is commonly out of date; call them; if they have anything left on clips; buy it - good stuff)

After that... I've seen many people compliment: http://wideners.com/itemview.cfm?dir=18|190|191 - Although in my case I'm stocking up for both Mosin's and PSL's therefore I only look for light ball. If you are only doing a Mosin; you can get Heavy Ball as well.

Otherwise; run through the list I maintain on this thread; just hit all the C&R folks; be wary of shipping prices; they vary ALOT. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ad.php?t=70073

I've had good luck with private party sales on this forum as well as others. Another good place is J&G Sales in Az and Sportsmanguide. You're doing good if you can get em around $50 per 300 or so. This is for surplus (corrosive) of course.

If they won't ship to your city (ie: Marin, Napa, Ventura and Yolo counties, CA; Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento and San Francisco), then get them to ship to a friend or family member.

The hard part is finding ammo that isn't "magnetic" and can be shot at the SoCal ranges. ammunitiontogo had some that was kind of pricey at $207 for 420 rounds in an ammo box. Sort of midway between surplus and what you have to pay at big5.
