Paratrooper Home At Last

Here she is ladies and gents. I finally quit waiting for the cheapest deal and picked this up last week. No sling, bayo, or cleaning rod, and someone painted the stock with matt black crinkle paint, but the numbers match. It is in very good condition save for where there was minor surface corrosion (been reblued) on the reciever, below the stock line, and the bore looks great. It's the original stock so at some point I can bring it back but it's all good for now. I figured with the deals I got on other stuff this year, over all I done good this year so far. A Finn capture refurb 91/30, M44 refurb, M44 all matching,Styer '96, Sino-Soviet refurb SKS, and this Para that I'm into for $875. If I can pick up 2 ugly Romys I've been looking for under $500, I'm a happy camper. PAX

Noob question. So that's a SKS? How long is the barrel? By the name Paratrooper, I was expecting a folding stock.

On an SKS, "paratrooper" refers to the shorter barrel. I doubt they have ever been issued to any paratroopers anywhere, but that was the name people came up with for them. It sounds less redundant than "short carbine".

Thanks folks. I've since added a black web sling and a Cutts style brake from my parts stash. Looks boss and handles sweet. It's offically my current fav. PAX
