No not at all. Most people just don't know about it and it can be "complicated" to buy from them. Just trying to help out someone else, not trying to be secretive

If it's not a secret, and I assume that the seller would like more business, why not help everyone out and let us know where this deal is?

Since Everyone believes I'm being secretive here is a pretty good overview of what you need to do. Buy from the CMP its the way to go.

Hi there. Well the best way to get a Garand is through the Civilian Marksmanship Program. Here is their website. http://www.odcmp.com/Sales/rifles.htm I recently bought a Garand from them, a Correct Grade (you will see all the grades on their page). You can't beat having a rifle shipped right to your door without having an FFL. of any type. It is a Congressionally Chartered program, all their rifles come in a hard case with a certificate of authenticity. If anything is wrong with your gun, call up customer service and they will make it right for you. By far the best way to get a Garand. It can be a "hassle" to buy from them as there are certain criteria you must meet, but it is not difficult to do. 1. Must be a U.S. Citizen. 2. Be a member of an affiliated club (I paid $25 for a year long membership in the Garand Collectors Association). 3. Have some record of firearms related activity. Handgun safety card, LTC, CCW, for me I used the rifle card issued at my local range that allows me to shoot a rifle there. Once you get these 3 things together, you send in your order with these attached and you are good to go. Let me know if you have any other questions, or write a post on the CMP Forums http://forums.thecmp.org/index.php If you want a nice Garand this is the way to go. You will not find a Garand as good as they sell for the price. Good luck!

Got my rifle in 16 days from when I sent in my order. I realize it varies and that was on the fast end. And I don't believe everyone knows about it, I didn't before I really started looking into M1's. I'm just trying to help out others like I was helped. Saved me lots of money and was definitely worth it.

Back in the DCM days you will wait for months. I waited for a few days short of a year. It was so long that I forgot about it till a big long box was delivered.

No kidding, I sent my packet in July of 98, and got my rifle in March of 1999.

Of course back then, it was one M1 per person, forever.

I emailed the guy to see if it was a Diamond in the ruff. It is a Springfield Armory 5.8M with a rearsenalled Barrel from 1969. Absolutely nothing special here. The receiver missed both wars and the barrel is VERY late.
