Medium size Limbsaver fits great on any Mosin but you'd be better off to get a PAST wearable recoil pad and you don't have to worry about switching it around on different rifles, etc.

The Limbsavers are $30+ and the PAST pads can be found for $20 on Amazon.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

That is what I had on my last mosin, worked pretty dang well at reducing the felt recoil, and I don't think it looked that bad on it either.

If you don't hold the rifle right a limbsaver isn't going to matter.
Don't waste your money just hold the damn thing right

The SMALL slip-on Limbsaver fits best on a Mosin.

Used the Limbsaver for years , for me its the difference between sending 20 downrange or sending 100+ in a shooting session.

I use the Past SuperMag recoil shield now.

It's a slip on rubber pad.

I run these on my mosins, not for recoil protection(because they don't) but it does give a better LOP and the closest thing for recoil it does is eliminate that sharp steel edge. But trust me you will feel every bit of recoil. The rubber is very hard.
Then again the recoil is not a big issue with me YMMV!
