    Original Mosin Nagant Stripper Clips

    Hey guys,

Do any of you know where one can find authentic and original Mosin Nagant stripper clips online for a decent price? I've been on the prowl ever since I went against the better judgement of all the veteran collectors and bought repro brass stripper clips despite them all warning me that the original work far better than what they're producing today.

Well they were absolutely right. I don't regret buying the repro brass clips because I got five for only $6 and they get the job done. But when I saw an authentic black Hungarian Mosin stripper clip in action I saw the difference. The repro ones don't pop off like the originals and don't hold on to the rimmed cartridges nearly as well.

    Any suggestions?

I've got six originals, I found them at a gun show. Some of the Polish light ball ammo that came in about a year ago was on clips, you might be able to find some of that ammo with the clips at a show or on gunbroker.

I found some on ebay. Someone in Latvia had battlefield clips, rust and all. The deal was cheap, under $10 delivered. Bought some of those cheap ones at a gun show too, 6 for $5 I think. Pure cr4p though. Poke around in CM this weekend, somebody should have a couple of real ones, sans the rust. Good luck.

The Bulgarian clips work really well.

See Harry at HMK second building on the right side at the end near the bathroom. He has real bulgarian ones. I think they are 3.00 ea.

There are usually some on BrokeGunner, but expect to pay around $5 for each one. I have 4 Tikka originals that work fantastic. I dont even remember where I got them though.

Harry is a good guy! (He's your father in law, ain't he?). He's one of the last "kitchen table FFLs" in L.A. and he's done good by me for years. Always kinda reminds me of Mr. Miagi from Karate Kid. LOL

Thanks for this. HMK was out of the Bugarian clips when I got there but I picked up a couple of Russian steel ones for $3.00 each. Big difference when compared to those Chinese finger slicer versions.

Last time I was at Chabot I actually found one! I had to run a casing through it to get it smoothed out though.

Stripper clips for rimless cartridges are still smoother.
