    Glendale Gunshow

(this weekend) Anybody going? I'm looking for one of three rifles: M1D garand, G43, or an Svt 40.

How likely do you think it is that I'll find one of these?

At a gun show? Not likely in a condition you like and/or a price you will pay.

Now, if you are in the market for a cracked/broken stock for a H&R single shot shotgun, or a reproduction of the knife used in Rambo XIVXXI - then you'll be all set!

I lol'd at that last part.

I'm gonna give it a go, I'm sure there'll be one or two neat C&R's floating around.

This is only my 2nd show, and there was some dope stuff at the last one. I'll remain optimistic.

No matter what you find - it's always fun to be surrounded by gun geeks for several hours!

Guess I'll just have to wait till it comes back to Del Mar. I actually do need a stock for a single shot shotgun.

Glendale is a really small show. The last time I went to a Glendale show it was one building, 2 floors.
If you want (and have the cash for) an M1D, G43 or an SVT, your best bet is gonna be the auction sites. One of these showing up at a local show is going to be a tough find. Not to mention... and because of so, there would probably be a substantial price hike on top of what they already bring.

Now, if this was 1986 and the Great Western was still around, your chances with 5000+ tables and 8 exhibit hall hanger size buildings to find one... I'd say go for it.

Nevertheless, I agree with billybob ^^ In addition to the repro Rambo XIVXXI knife ...After over 25 years of going to gun shows, if the only thing I walk out with is a $5 dollar hot dog and a $4 drink, its always worth it just going for the atmosphere.

You'll see garands, but probably not the other stuff. Still a good time.

I'm half tempted to walk around the show with my SVT slung on my shoulder (and then tell everyone who asks that I just bought it for "insert insanely small amount of $") just to torment the OP.

That reminds me... Why do people always bring their rifles to the gun show? Are they hoping to sell/trade them, or trying to get them repaired, or what? I've always been curious about that...

I liken to think that those folks who trug along their rifles are the kid on the street who have a new toy and show it off just to make the other neighborhood kids jealous. I've seen some guys bring rifles and carry them all day, making small talk about it just to walk home with it on their backs. They must like the attention.

I like the Glendale show; has just enough stuff to keep me interested, ammo, ar furniture, etc.
