    Source for 'Small Ring' Mauser?

Interested in a donor action of the small ring variety, any leads other than Samco?

Would an M1916 Spanish Mauser be safe for a rebarrel project?

m1916 suitability would depend on what you wanted to make out of it. anything under about 40-45k psi.
I think it would make a dandy 250 savage.
It has the disadvantage of not having a gas shield but that does not seem to be a big issue with 91argies or 95swedes.

I would look for a bubbaed Swedish Mauser '96. A very strong action. Second would be a Chilean 95, which has some of same improvements as the '96. Best to just troll Calguns and put in a WTB, and your local gunshops, flea markets, etc. to avoid shipping hassles.

Yikes, isn't $250 a pretty steep price for a "fair condition" Swede barreled action? Or am I just still stuck in the '60s.....

          I'd shop around.

Swedes have gone up quite a bit in price. I'm seeing the complete rifles up in the almost-$500 range, even for crummy ones. It depends a lot on what you're looking for, too. The short ones are cheaper, from what I've seen. The long rifles.. ouch.
