    Question - old .22lr bullets - spacer?

My Pop passed about 15 years ago. He left me some firearms including an old 1936 Remington Speed Master 241. Nice little gallery gun that I plan on teaching my 9 year old boy to shoot with.

Anyway, I was going through some of his stuff and came across some ammo. Mixed in with a few .22lr bullets was what looks like a brass spacer. It's the same length as a .22lr bullet but I'm not sure what you do with it.

Does it look familiar to anyone? What's it for?

Wish I could still ask him.

Could it be for dry firing a .22 without damaging it?

Looks like it's probably just a mulligan that made it past quality control. Keep it as a keepsake or toss it.

I'm guessing this was used so you knew you where on your last round and didn't drop the hammer on an empty chamber.

Looks like a .22 case that has been swaged, and was on the way to being turned into a .223 bullet. Is it empty or is there lead inside?

Looks like a bronze shearpin for an outboard engine to me.
