          In all seriousness, it's your rifle. It might be kind of interesting. I wouldn't do it, but I don't have a Garand that needs a stock.

              I use the synthetic stock on my latest build. Took a little bit of forming, especially where the op-rod comes through. The most annoying part was finding out what metal it needed. The descriptions weren't very specific. Overall, I'm pleased with it. I thought reducing the weight would make it recoil harder, but the butt-pad is very soft and manages well. And before you start, this is my 3rd Garand built off a Rack grade CMP bare receiver, so it had no historic value to begin with. Good luck!

                Anyone I have talked to that used the Ramline stocks didnt like them and took them off.
                They said they were very poorly made and fit was bad

                  Chinese parts? Ruined? What nonsense. If it has Chinese parts it probably is a ROC rifle (which I desperately want and am reduced to begging other forum members for in other threads).

                  If it is, that means there is a serious chance the rifle was used to combat the communists during the Chinese civil war. I'd say that is a damn fine use for an m1. If you don't think the Chinese deserve individual rights, a democratic, free state, or m1 garands, then, boo to you, sir. Harrumph.

                            If you've got a pristine original stock that you want to keep that way, I don't see the issue with throwing on a synthetic to go to the range with to prevent possibly dings in the original.... I just wouldn't want to go bubbaing a M1

                              My vote would be, "No", hold the rant (and therefore I didn't vote). It's your rifle, do as you please, that just wouldn't work for me.
