but installing one will be a bit of a pain unless you buy from a FFL directly or know someone who can install it.

After closer inspection I have found that the receiver and barrel are 03A3.
      The safty is a Buehler
The floor plate & trigger gaurd are from 03

Does anyone know what the two tapped holes in the side of the receiver would be for ?

Maybe for some kind of sight.

I don't think you really want any part of the that rifle. What's the contact info for your friend.

Well I completly dissasembled the whole thing, gave it scub down and lubed it up. Also there was lots of uneven pressure on the barrel in different area's, so I took to the stock and and free floated the barrel.
I am going to get a set of dies, make up some handloads and see what she does. But I think I'm going to keep it even I have to rebarrel.

I know this is completely off topic, but how big is Lincoln now? I lived there until I was two years old and then my parents moved to San Jose in 1945 and I have been through there just once in about 1967 or so. My grandfather work for the Gladding company there. Do their buildings still exist? thanks.

                Hey Rudy:
                You almost wouldn't recconize it.
It has bacome a booming town for the retired bay area people. New housing catering to the well to do retired. Golf Carts actually have their own lanes to drive in on the road even though they are not Lisenced, and parking spaces at the stores just for them. Three Golf coarses so close you can throw a rock and hit each one. Casino in my back yard, a Mall five minutes away.
And we got a few Gang bangers. So much for that small town feel and knowing everyone in town and leaving your doors unlocked.
The places I use to hunt and four wheel are all gone (ALL).
So unless you have what is left of the Privite property you get to drive a long way to hunt.
McBean is still up and running, Also the Lincoln Rifle range is up and running
However I see the Range closing in less than 10 years do to growth and I am sure the new people moving in will get their way and get it shut down.
I know I paint a grim picture but Lincoln is still good place to live.
