The cut back stock is sort of pointless, if they didn't cut back the barrel ... doesn't make sense as a military weapon.

What is the serial number range?
Is that a BAR magazine?
How is the mag attached? welded to the floor plate?
I seem to recall something like this as a between the wars experimental variation but could not find the reference --But it was not cut-down.

I dont know if this is one of them, but the "air service" m1903 conversions are a real variant, and they did use a fixed 25 rd mag.

I know they're real, But I've heard of fakes being built using BAR Mags.

The magazine is quite different from a BAR mag if you look at the indentations. That one is a real magazine. I've only seen one real mag in person, and that was at the Big Reno show like 7 or 8 years ago. The guy who bought it paid $25 or so because the thing was marked as a BAR magazine.

Where is the rifle listed or posted at? It looks like it has the potential to be correct and original.
