"Latest" has a particular meaning here. Although I'll be in line for a M85 when they make it here - if they ever do.
So here it is - a M28/76 with a superb stock, a shiny barrel and all the sight apparatus, ready to be taken to the range. Needless to say, this is the only one of my Mosins I won't be shooting corrosive ammo from. I know, a bit of hot water down the barrel is all you need to do afterwards, but you know what? This one deserves brand new, quality ammo. After all, I wouldn't fill my race car with unleaded 76 octane gas.

To make a long story short for those who are not familiar with this rifle: these were made in the 70s by the Finnish military using M28/30 rifles. They were used for practice/match. Some have drilled receivers for a scope mount. Bolt handle has been modified to accommodate the diopter rear sight assembly, which is fully adjustable - windage and elevation. Front sight can be adjusted forelevation windage as well. Rails on left side/under handguard for palm rest/bipod.
This one is obviously a right-handed one (left-handed stocks were carved as well).
Imperial eagle on receiver, Sako stamp on rear sight, barrel looks to be "new", and a ton of other markings I have yet to decipher.
I love the sights and the mid-century mod feel of the stock. Next: maybe a 27/66 if I ever get my hands on one. But first I gotta shoot this baby.
