Ljungman vs Hakim?

Im looking to get another semi auto C&R and looking at one of these two. Is either one better than the other? I already have 8mm so the Ljungman would mean another caliber purchase for me but if its noticably better than the Hakim then Ill just have to deal with it.

I've had two Hakims and while they are great rifles I'd prefer the Ljungman. The Swede will cost you 50-100% more but the quality is worth it.

I had a hakim, looked new. It blew up with old military ball. The swede is much better if national manufacturing ethos has anything to say about it.

The AG42B is a Swede. The action is identical (the Hakim was designed after the Ljungman), but the quality and accuracy will be better. MUCH more expensive.

Doesn't the Ljungman have issues with modern ammuntion too? I thought I read that somewhere. Could be "internet BS" but I thought I saw that...

Both have adjustable gas valves and they need to be adjusted to the ammo you are shooting.

I've been wondering this as well. Was leaning more towards the Hakim because of price and they seem to be more common. However, maybe saving a bit more (or longer layaway) for the Ljungman would be worth while.

Go with the Hakim. 8mm is still cheap to shoot.

If you already have an SKS get a Rasheed instead, an offshoot of Ljungman too.

Haven't gotten to shoot a hakim yet, but I'm in love with the AG42B. 6.5 swede is a great caliber.


Be carefull with ammo selection for an 8mm autoloader. The turk and 50's yugo are notorious for case head inclusions that like to KB your guns....ask me how I know

I've had one for a few years now / Great Fun

When you take it to the range either 2 things will happen
1, People will want to know what the heck that thing is

2 , People will 'Move ' away from you because of the noise
