    Winchester mdl. 1894 ??

I have the opportunity to purchase a Winchester 1894 rifle with 26" octagon barrel that is chambered in 32/40. from the grandson of the original owner. I am pretty sure it was made in 1899 and I would guess it is in at least 90% condition and everything is original. Does anyone have some input on the value of this rifle and anything else I should know to look for?

    Thank You, Jerry

32nd ed. of Blue Book of Gun Values says a 90% 1899 production Model 1894 is worth $2950 + 50% for calibers other than .30-30 or .32 special.
    Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.
